- AbstractSagging of mountain slopes are deep-seated gravitational slope deformations. Owing to their large aerial extent and their destructive impact on torrent regulation dams, reservoirs, road cuttings, tunnels and settlements it is important to understand the kinematics and the mechanism of motion. This data can only be obtained from long time series studies. The results of precipitation, snow melt, run-off, slope water and mass movement are discussed in terms of comprehensive statistical analyses. Time series analysis provides indications of the trends and cyclic parts of the observed data. In more than twenty-five years of study, results have been obtained which show the dimensions and the range of the data, tahe movement over time and the causes. In addition to morphological, geological and geotechnical parameters as well as geophysical properties of the sagging of mountain slope "Gradenbach", several aspects of the time-dependence and the relationship to external factors can also be explained.
