The report presents important results of the conference. The four main topics: (i) planning and market economy on different levels, (ii) planning system in Russia, (iii) forestry inventory and (iv) rotation optimization are covered by 22 papers presented by scientists from different countries. The results of the discussions of the three conference days are partly reflected in the final resolution. The most important results are the new ideas which the scientists as well as the Russian foresters derived directly from the presentations and which relate to their specific interests in forestry practice and research.
