This pulication examines the geological and, above all, geomorphological charakteristics of the Alpine sector located NE of Tolmezzo (UD), including the Mts Strabut, Amariana and Palavierte p.p. in the central Carnic Alps. The investigation starts by examing the stratigraphy of the substrate and evaluating the influence of tectonics (and neotectonics) on the setting of the local hydrographic network, deginung the lineation systems, identifying the main faults and citing the assumend capable or active faults inferred from literature.
