Equations relating average height of dominant and codominant trees in function of their age and site index and, inversely, estimating S.l. from the trees' average height and age. Data collected through stem analsis of 44 white pines in pure or strongly dominating stands in southern Quebe. Parameters for a prediction equation for S.l. estimated by non-linear regression. Limits and centers of three S.l. classes from these equations. Results integrated into a computer algorithm that given, among others, growth and height for any prediction horizon.
