The forests in Germany are of great importance for the leisure and health of the population. Accordingly, the Baden-Wuerttemberg Forest Law stipulates that „... the forest functions must be recorded by the forest function mapping ... and must be pursued as necessary.” In recent decades, both the recreation in forest and landscape (changes in leisure time, the trend towards nature sports) and the societal demands on the forest (for example, the increase in participation, longing for nature) have changed quantitatively and qualitatively very much.Keywords | Recreation, landscape recreation, GISmapping, mixed methods
