Pyrolysis-derived biochar is considered as a soil amendment for carbon sequestration and soil fertility improvement. For these applications, the understanding and exploiting of interactions between biochar and soil microorganisms could be advantageous. In this stdy the microbial decomposition of biochar and the effect of biochar on soil microbial community are investigated. Therfore, an incuvation experiment and a planted po experiment with two different types of soils (acidic sandy soil, calareous silty soil) and C labeled biochar were set up.
