Abstract
A Check-list ofthe Bryophyte flora of the Karst area of Trieste and Gorizia is presented as a contribution to the study ofthe biodiversity of this area. It is based on recent collections, with bibliographical data up to now known for the investigated area and those of the Bryophyte Herbarium of the University of Trieste (TSE), concerning collected data from M. Valerio (Trieste) some years ago. The check-list includes 296 Bryophytes: 2 liverworths and 24 mosses are new records for Friuli Venezia Giulia region. Floristic and biogeographical considerations are added.
