Depending upon the moisture content of the soil, the leaf surface of Eucalyptus camaldulensis Dehn. is warmer or cooler than the surrounding air. Leaf surface temperatures are shown to vary according to foliage colour and seed origin. The implications are discussed of the variations of leaf temperatures within and between ecotypes.
