The paper deals with the problems of prognosis when allowable cut indicator 1/20 of growing stock of forest stand of last 2 age classes (10 years) and older is used. This allowable cut indicator does not prescribe the cut according to individual age classes. For growing stock prediction is necessary to divide the total sum of cut to age classes. Two possible ways were used in the paper. The former way is based on total reduction of overmature age classes. The harvest in overmature age classes is equal to their volume. The rest of allowable cut indicator value is divided among other mature age classes according to their volume proportion. The later way divides this cut into all mature age classes, include overmature, equally according to their volume proportion. Four sets of forest stands created from database of forest management plan of forest unit SLP TU Zvolen were used. The results confirmed suitability of both ways for prediction of growing stock and mentioned allowable cut indicator as well.
