In the course of the Interreg III B CADSES project ILUP (Integrated landuse planning and river basin management selected forest enterprises (FDB Atschreith of ÖBF AG, the forest of the town of Waidhofen and the forest cooperative Mostviertel West) were site-mapped. The enterprises cover sites of the Northern limestone Alps, the flysch zone and the northern lowlands with molasse and fluviatile gravel as well as the Bohemian Mass. Various associations from Carpinion betuli and Fagion sylvaticae were found. Soils range from rendzic leptosols and chromic cambisols on limestone to cambisols and luvisols. A new method of site mapping which includes geostatistical modelling is presented.
