Ecologically oriented forest management systems seems to be contradictory to forest tree breeding and to the planting of clones in forestry especially. This paper is describing selected clones, suitable propagation methods, and the utilisation of these clones in practical silviculture on examples of silver birch (Betula pendual Roth), black locust (Robinia pseudacacia L.), sycamore maple (Acer pseudoplatanus L.) and European and hybrid larch (Larix decidua Mill. and L. x eurolepis Henry). So it may be contribute to reduce prejudice and mental reservations against clones in forestry.
