Determination of the Number of Dying Trees in the Growth Model for the Spruce-Pine Stands in North-Eastern Poland

In the paper a program constituting a part of the growth model for spruce- pine stands was presented. The number of dying trees was determined upon the equation representing the tree number in one hectare. The term of the annual mortality rate was used for the mathematical description of the process of dying of spruce trees. Relationship of the indices describing the process of self-thinning to various variables of the stand was proved.
