One aim of the GAW-DACH project is to develop filters for extracting data with extended spatial representativity from the datasets. Therefore, the influence of meteorological transport processes on trace gas observations at the high Alpine site Jungfraujoch is investigated. These processes were subdivided into two main categories: thermally driven transport, which take place on a local scale, and transport on a regional (e.g. föhn) or synoptic scale. It is shown that all these processes induce more or less variability in the trace gas observation. First approaches for station specific filters in order to distingish between measurements which are influenced by polluted regions are presented and the effect of these filters especially on CO mixing ratios are described.
