The author presents the disadvantages of the traditional methods of cutting and makes a proposition for a new cutting technology, which could eliminate the above-mentioned disadvantages. The cutting of wood by abrasive water jet can open new possibilities in the wood processing industry. The article presents the theory, the equipment required, the functioning mechanism of the water jet cutting and the experimental results of the author, which are very promising for the future.
