  • Abstract
During investigations on wood mycoflora associated to dead and decaying trees of the genus Quercus (Quercus ilex, Quercus cerris, and Quercus robur), in woods in the "macchia mediterranea" and in urban plantations of trees, 26 Basidiomycotina were identfied, besides several Ascomycotina and Deuteromycotina. The most common species were: Armillaria spp., Ganoderma spp., Phellinus spp. and Inonotus dryadeus. In addition, a number of potential root pathogens and wood decay fungi have been isolated and are discussed.
