It is shown how the Lonhorn Beetle Ph. semipunctata was introduced in the East and has penetrated in about five phases great parts of the Mediterranean Basin and the Canary Islands. The exact way of invasion is not clearly defined. The possibilities of introduction are discussed. The occurrence of Ph. semipunctata in Libya and at Gomera is new. Host plants and one hitherto known parasitoid and one predator are indicated in this part of the areal of the species.
