Abstract
Finland's National Forest Program 2010 was approved in 1999 and its implementation has begun. The program was drafted in a transparent, cooperative way and stakeholders are, also, involved in the implementation. The program aims at increasing silvicultural activities and timber harvesting and at developing forest conservation especially in Southern Finland. Increasing the use of energy wood and the value added of wood products are other essential targets.
