The mortality of Norway spruce within this enterprise was expected to be very high. The investigation indicates that this is not the case. However the reaction of the management was to harvest the majority of trees with high levels of defoliation. Although there was an obvious improvement in the defoliation situation, this was an unnecessary over reaction by management.
