Abstract
This case study of Lower Saxony's State Forest Administration describes the role of forest labor and forest technology within the scope of enterprise objectives: The intensified application of modern environmentally-friendly forest technology plays a central role. Enterprise and forest labor operations have been adapted in close connection to these principles. The essential elements discussed in this paper - as well as the impact and future development thereof - are the implementation of monthly salaries and partially autonomous teamwork, intensified further education and improved ergonomy and labor safety.
