On the basis of the enterprise's structural data, it was attempted to sharply focus the "role model" of forest management onto individual plots, centered on the unique situation of specific forest sites. In particular, the transition from an "institution" of general pbulic interest to the role model of a market-competitive enterprise was discussed. Practical examples elucidate how - apart from the original product "timber" and secondary biological products - new product groups can be developed in the sectors of processing and services, education, guided wildlife tours, nature conservation and forest beautification. In conjunction with this, transforming traditional production-based forest management into a service enterprise requires a more exact, axiomatic record of performance and return in the future.
