Field trials with different Pheromone products and traptyps against the spruce bark beetle, Ips typographus, which had begun in 1993, were continued in 1994. Four different compounds of beetle pheromones and 4 different kinds of traps were tested in 3 locations in Lower - and Upper Austria. The results show, that three pheromon products Pheroprax, Pheroplates and Ipsodor are pretty equal and can be recommended for the use in traps and on traplogs. The best trap was the Theysohn-Slottrap, followed by the white funnel trap, the AFA-flight- barriertrap and finally the black funnel trap.
