The growth in height and volume of Scots pine trees in selected stands of the Niepolomice Forest was analysed and compared with growth of sample trees in stands of Janow Forests which are free of industrial pressure. Backman's and Mitscherlich's functions were utilized in the height growth analysis, while Hugershoff's function was used in the volume growth analysis Also the usefulness of these functions of growth for the approximation of its history was evaluated.
