Investigations were based on a large empirical material covering 6300 pine trees measured with the section method. Relation of the b.h. form factor of the stem timber to various variables of the tree, i.a. to that of the quotients at various heights was investigated. When basing on the proved relationship three equations for determining the timber volume of the stem on stump have been suggested. These formulas can be used in the large-scale forest inventory method.
