Forest road planning and forest cadastral surveying in Greece still involves a large amount of ground survey. - Referring to the univerity forest of Pertuli (Central Greece) the paper investigates the possibilities of methodological improvements by use of small scale aerial phtographs in combination with the digital plotter Kern DSR 11/18. Based on aerial photographs, data from ground surveys and with the help of different software-packets digital ground models, contour lines and cadastral forest maps are produced. The analysis in connecton with terrestrial data allows conclusions for forestry practice. A combination of aerial photointerpretation and terrestrial surveys seems indispensable for the forest cadastral survey.
