Abstract
Embryogenic cultures of some forest tree species were initiated from immature and mature zygotic embryos cultured on modified MS medium and on WPM supplemented with auxin (2,4-D, or NAA, or IBA) and eytokinin (BAP or kinetin). Somatic embryos developed after transfer of embryogenic cultures on media containing reduced concentration of hormones or no hormones, or on media containing abscisic acid (ABA). Conversion of mature somatic embryos into plantlets was stimulated on modified WPM or MS media containing low hormone concentration. Secondary somatic embryogenesis was frequent and numerous adventive somatic embryos were produced.
