The contribution looks for ways of further development of the transplanting of seedlings by means of automation. In comparison with the present state it assesses the technology of the type PICADOR using the system of the system of the belt reservoirs of seedlings. This technology appears to be unfavourable, because it preserves the manual handling of individual seedlings. Faourable conclusions are found at the automatic transplanting of seedlings grown mass like in solid more cell containers. It leads to pronounced reduction of the production laboriousness and to the elimination of agrotechnical operation peaks. This technology was experimentally realized.
