Adventitions buds were induced on cotyledons, needles, vegetative buds and needle primordia of Larix decidua and Picea abies. Axillary bud formation was stimulated on shoot segments of Pinus sylvestris. PBA, BAP and thidiazuron stimulated effectively bud formation. Shoot elongation was promoted on media lacking cytokinin. Shoot proliferation of broadleaved forest trees was stimulated on agar nutrient media supplemented with a low concentration of PBA, BAP or thidiazuron. Microshoots excised from cultures were rooted on low salt agar media containing low level of auxins (IBA, NAA).
