Abstract
The article shows the way genetic improvement on Gmelina arborea (Roxb.) is done at Subri Industrial Plantations Ltd. in Ghana. It shows that it is possible to select material that has a better form and a better growth rate compared to normal individuals of that species. It also shows that it is possible to select seed stands to get immediate improvement, as the genetic improvement with individuals will last for several years.
