This article deals with the developemt, the tasks and the organizational structure of the State Forest Administration of Greece. After a brief historical introduction, emphasis is given on the main problems and goals of greek forestry. Special attention has been paid on the structure of the greek forest administration at all its levels, from the cental-ministerial to the local-regional. Finally, some points are discussed on personnel, leadership and management outlook.
