Austrian forest management has already a very high degree of mechanisation. The timber harvesting at the enterprise of Hespa-Domaene has surely reached a peak value with 47 % cable logging system. Certainly already rom the beginning this logging method has been recognized as a very suitable and preserving method and has been therefore forced. As in any other work process, the successul logging in the montains with cable-cranes depends on good planing and organization. The more mechanised the operation, the more effective is the planning to be. * "silviculture planning", * "utilisation planning", * "working plan" * "equipment operations plans" and * "tansportation planning". Not the machines are responsible for good or bad operation, but it's the man who is choosing the machine for a certain task and is using it in a right or wrong way.
