With respect to risk assessment regarding genetically modified animals, this report is one of the first with a synoptic representation of relevant aspects and statutory instruments as well as identified need for action. The focus lies on questions of risk assessment regarding genetically modified agricultural animals including fish intended for use as food as well as on animals that have been genetically modified in the course of so-called gene pharming, furthermore, examples of genetically modified pet animals have been compiled.
