The BFW Literature Database
The BFW literature database offers comprehensive literature documentation on forestry in Austria and the German-speaking area. It includes the holdings of the BFW libraries in Vienna, Innsbruck, Traunkirchen and Ossiach, with a comprehensive documentation of articles published in the most important forestry journals and series in German language from 1980 onwards. The database stores also the most relevant Austrian forestry journal articles from the foundation of our house in the late 18th century as an important contribution to illustrate the development of Austrian forestry from its beginnings to the present. They are supplemented with a variety of historical documents from our forestry museum.
The currently approx. 210,000 references from the literature database are coded within the framework of our own list of keywords and, with the help of the Forest Decimal Classification System (GFDK), are additionally systematically indexed in terms of content in such a way that they can be retrieved in a variety of ways.
