Hungary, as a European "black locust superpower" has several decades of experience in the cultivation of this tree species. The identification and prevention of various damages in black locust forests is an important part of the knowledge. The plant protection of black locust, being a non-indigenous tree species, requires special attention. Black locust covered 21.6% of the forest area in 2001. Two pests, both of them originating in North America, have appeared during the last 20 years whose only host-plant is black locust. The descriptive chapters of the book are followed by the explantation of forest protection and tending technologies that have proven themselves in the practice. Pesticide application is recommended only when it is unavoidable, the main emphasis is on prevention. The book is illustrated with original photographs and pictures.
