Effect of Global Climate Change on Boreal and Temperate Forests : Workshop Proceedings ; Jìloviste by Prague, Czech Republic, October 10-14, 1994 : Effect of Global Climate Change on Boreal and Temperate Forests
Participants at the workshop discussed problems of global climatic change and its possible impact on forest ecosystems and forestry. Among the main issues discussed were: - Climatic change and air pollution damage to forests. - Changes in biotic environment, including natural and anthropogenic changes of atmosphere and climate, long-term cumulative and synergistic effects of pollutants, forests as a part of global carbon cycle, greenhouse effect, soil and water changes, - Biotic compounds of forest ecosystems: forest tree species composition, gene-pool, biodiversity, regionally important species, physiology of forest tree species, protection of forest in the changing climate, - Effect of climate changes on forest management, including questions of measurements in tending and protection of forests, common methodologies for research, and economic consequences.
