The paper brings comprehensive results on monitoring of wet deposition process at the territory of central part of the Tatras Mts. It is aimed at calculations of air pollution atmospheric depositions in the forest stand and the open area during the years 1997 and 1998. The subject of our research were forest stands in geobiocenological units Cembreto-Piceetum and Mugheto-acidofilum at locality of Popradske pleso (1540 m asl) and in geobiocenological unit Lariceto-Piceetum at locality Vysne Hagy (1140 m asl). chemical status of precipitation at open area, throughfall and stemflow of Norway spruce, European larch, Arolla pine and Dwarf pine were analysed and compared. Strong acidification of precipitation and enrichment of stand precipitation by air pollution components in comparison with open area were detected at research plots. Acid air pollution input is markedly exceeding critical loads (calculated by Profile model) at Popradske pleso site, especially for tree species Arolla pine, Norway spruce and European larch. Wet deposition input at research site Vysne Hagy did not exceed calculated ecological limits.
