- AbstractThis study aimed to develop a system for production prognoses for Pinus taeda L. plantation using Stand Density Management Diagram (SDMD) associated with diameter class models. The database used came from permanent plots measured in the Paraná and Santa Catarina states, southern Brazil. The methodology proposed by McCarter and Long Western Journal of Applied Forestry 1:6-11 (1986) and Dean and Baldwin (1993) was used in constructing the SDMD, which can generate stand attributes used as input in a diameter-class model, thus providing detailed prognosis of wood assortments in thinnings and final cut. With attributes from SDMD the parameters Weibull function are recovered by the method of moments and with the association of these two models types a production system was developed.
