Neben der Holzproduktion wird die Wichtigkeit weiterer Ökosystemleistungen des Waldes für Umwelt und Gesellschaft immer deutlicher. Aufgrund ihrer langfristigen Produktionszeiträume ist die Forstwirtschaft bei deren Bereitstellung mit zusätzlichen naturalen und finanziellen Risiken konfrontiert. Anhand des Beispiels verschiedener Totholzmanagementszenarien wird im vorliegenden Artikel gezeigt, wie durch die Verwendung moderner Optimierungsansätze weitere Leistungen des Waldes in die ökonomische Planung eines Forstbetriebs integriert werden können. Dazu wurden für einen Privatwaldbetrieb in Bayern verschiedene Totholzziele mit verschiedenen Anreicherungsstrategien kombiniert und als Restriktion in das betriebliche Optimierungsmodell integriert. Der Vergleich der verschiedenen Lösungen ermöglicht eine Ableitung von kostenminimalen Strategien für die verschiedenen Ziele. Die Kosten variieren stark mit dem angenommenen Totholzziel und werden von der gewählten Aushaltungsvariante (Ganzbaum, Starkholz, Äste), von der Baumart (Nadelholz, Laubholz) und vom vorgegebenen Zeithorizont für die Erreichung des Zieles beeinflusst. Als Folgerung für die Praxis kann abgeleitet werden, dass ökonomische und ökologische Ziele in optimaler Weise miteinander vereinbart werden können, wenn der untersuchte Betrieb bei der Anreicherung von Totholz eine Strategie verfolgt, die verstärkt auf die Bereitstellung von Totholz aus ganzen Laubbäumen setzt und das Ziel nicht kurzfristig zu erreichen versucht.

L'importance des services écosystémiques autres que la production de bois pour l'environnement et la société devient de plus en plus évidente. En raison de ses horizons de production à long terme, l'économie forestière est confrontée à des risques naturels et financiers additionnels lors de la production de ces services. A l'exemple de différents scénarios de gestion du bois mort, le présent article démontre comment les diverses prestations de la forêt peuvent être intégrées dans la planification économique d'une entreprise forestière par l'emploi d'approches modernes d'optimisation. A cet effet, différents objectifs de taux de bois mort ont été combinés avec différentes stratégies de production de bois mort et ont été intégrés dans le modèle d'optimisation de l'entreprise. La comparaison des différentes solutions permet de définir les stratégies les moins coûteuses pour les différents objectifs. Les coûts varient fortement avec l'objectif du taux de bois mort et sont influencés aussi bien par les sortiments mis à disposition (arbre entier, gros bois, branches), de l'essence (résineux, feuillus) et du délai défini pour l'atteinte de l'objectif. En conclusion, pour la pratique, il peut en être déduit que les objectifs économiques et écologiques peuvent être combinés d'une manière optimale, lorsque l'entreprise forestière concernée poursuit une stratégie de production de bois mort qui prévoit la mise à disposition de bois mort par arbre feuillu entier et qu'elle ne cherche pas à atteindre ses objectifs à trop court terme.

Besides the conventional use of wood for construction and heating, further ecosystem services of forests gain more and more importance, such as environmental protection and social welfare. Due to its long-term production, forest management is faced with additional biophysical and economic risks when providing these services. This article assesses how ecosystem services can be included in an economic planning model using as an example the provision of deadwood in commercial forests. For a private forest enterprise in Bavaria (Germany), different deadwood targets were combined with different grading variants and included in the optimization approach as side conditions. By comparing the different optimal solutions for different deadwood targets it was possible to derive the costs of an optimal strategy. The results indicate that costs widely vary not only depending on the amount, but also on the grading types of deadwood (entire tree, strong timber, branches), the tree species (softwood, hardwood), and the given time horizon to reach the deadwood target. As a conclusion for practitioners we derive that ecological and economic objectives can be combined in an optimal way by the examined enterprise if deadwood is provided from whole hardwood trees and if the goal does not have to be reached in a short time.
