- AbstractBecause of its unique location on the small island and the long-lasting conservation the beech forest on the Island of Vilm could be retransformed into a nearly natural forest with a surprisingly high amount of young natural regenerated marple trees. With its ancient, massive stems it provides a fantastic sight. Since the Island of Vilm is accessible to visotors again it has been an especially worthwile destination for nature- lovers and interested foresters.
