Results of Further Studies on the Usability of Synthetic Pyrethroids for Disinsectization and Protection of Unbarked Wood Against Insects

It has been stated in field experiments that a single speaying in spring of unbarked pine wood from autumn and winter cutting with water suspensions containing 0.2% of Fastac 10 EC or 0.5% of Sumicidin 20 EC, Karate 2.5 EC or Cybolt 100 E fully protected this wood against the insects for about 7 weeks. Unbarked pine wood of trees cut at the end of May and the beginning of June, sprayed with above-mentioned suspensions was protected against the insects for the whole vegetation season. The spraying of unbarked wood with water suspensions containing 0.1% of Cybolt 100 E, 0.2% of Fastac 10 EC or 0.3% of Sumicidin 20 EC or Karate 2,5 EC ensured full disinsectization of wood attacked by Hylecoetus dermestoides L. This treatment also caused full mortality of adults of Xyloterus sp. boring into the wood, inclusive of those ones being in the entrance holses up to depth of 3-4 cm, but only to the moment of starting the boring of lateral breeding galleries. In the later period, the efficacy was as lower as more advanced was the boring of breeding galleries.
